Plan your wedding in a beautiful Craftsman-style church close to downtown Berkeley. Your wedding site can be both beautiful and affordable.
You can check the availability of specific dates for both the Sanctuary and Labyrinth
Hall online. Please note however that you should call the Grace North rentals coordinator at 510.356.6702 or send email to confirm availability.
FEES: $500 for use of Sanctuary, one entire day. Includes 3-hour rehearsal on a prior day. Space for a modest on-site reception in our Parish Labyrinth Hall costs $200.
PAYMENT/DEPOSIT: We expect half of the total fee in order to reserve the space; the remainder is expected two weeks in advance of the wedding.
CAPACITY: 250 seated in sanctuary.
SOUND SYSTEM: Our sound system has two microphones and 8 inputs. With appropriate patch cords any CD or tape can be played. Wedding party is responsible for setting up sound system needs. No technician from Grace North is available.
MUSIC FOR THE SERVICE: A baby grand piano is available for
weddings. Our pipe organ is temperamental and only available for use by our parish organists.

ALTAR/PARAMENTS: The altar is left bare, without paraments.
For a religious service, the church's paraments and communion
materials may be used if they
are cleaned and returned. Requires advance notice and special
key.
PROGRAMS/BULLETINS: Grace North does not produce programs for weddings.

FLOWERS: As many as you wish! You may scatter rose petals if

Berkeley, has a key to the church and is familiar with the space.
PARKING: Grace North Church does not have a parking lot, nor can we reserve any street parking for you beyond one space for the wedding party. We are in a residential/small business neighborhood and guests will be able to find parking on city streets, but must be prepared to walk for a couple of blocks.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: We are a pleasant 10-minute walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Exit the Downtown Berkeley BART station, walk nine blocks north on Shattuck Avenue, turn right on Cedar Street; walk one more block to Grace North Church. Buses pass one block from the church.
RECEPTION ON SITE: For $200 a small-scale reception may be
held in the Parish's Labyrinth Hall.
--Hall capacity: about 200, standing.
--We can provide 6 standard sized, rectangular folding tables and approximately 60 folding chairs. If more chairs and tables are needed, you may arrange outside rentals.
--We do not provide linens for the tables, or covers for the chairs.
--There is no sound system provided in the Labyrinth Hall.
MUSIC IN LABYRINTH HALL: By Berkeley city law, amplified music can continue until 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights, and until 10:00 pm on other nights; quiet, unamplified music after these hours.
KITCHEN: A modest kitchen is adjacent to the Labyrinth Hall with a good amount of work space, but no dishwasher. External catering services should be used. We do not provide dishes, glasses or cutlery.
CLEAN-UP: The wedding party is responsible for complete clean-up of any and all areas used after the event, before midnight on Saturday. If you move something, put it back! Vacuum carpets, sweep floors, take out the trash. Failure to leave the space in clean and good order will result in an additional $100 cleaning fee. (For a $100 fee, we can arrange for clean-up service.)
